Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term used to describe excessive sweating. This disorder occurs in up to 3 % of the population. Hyperhidrosis can occur in the armpits (axillary hyperhidrosis), in the hands (palmar hyperhidrosis), or in the feet (plantar hyperhidrosis).

Hyperhidrosis is usually not responsive to topical deodorants and antiperspirants.

Botox® is an effective way to temporarily treat Hyperhidrosis in those who have not responded to antiperspirants and who are not committed to surgery.

Botox® is injected into the affected area with a very fine needle to temporarily block the nerves that trigger sweating.

This treatment usually takes about 15 – 20 minutes to perform and is minimally uncomfortable. The results are excellent and typically last 6 – 7 months in over 90 % of the cases.

There is NO downtime, patients may return to work and other activities immediately after the procedure.

The results begin to show in about three days and rich maximum in about a week.

Most private insurance plans pay for the BOTOX® vials.

Please ask us about BOTOX® Access Program, sponsored by Allergan®. The BOTOX® Access Program will reimburse the cost of BOTOX® used for the first Hyperhidrosis treatment if your health insurance coverage does not.
